The students and staff of Oak Forest High School have been huge supporters of Julia and Julia’s Legacy of Hope from the very beginning. Julia was inspired by her teachers, coaches and band directors at OFHS, and she inspired them as well. Coach MacDonough, a two time cancer survivor himself, was Julia’s mentor throughout her cancer journey, and as his football team prepared for the state playoffs, he honored her once again. In conjunction with business teacher Mrs. Gomez and her students, who designed t-shirts for sale, Coach Mac and the administration put on a huge state playoff football pep rally at the high school, and we were invited to sell t-shirts, framed quotes, pillows and scarves. We were shocked, surprised and taken aback when, at the end of the ceremony, we were presented with two checks, one from the athletic booster club and one from the pep club, as all proceeds from the event were donated to Julia’s Legacy of Hope!
Thank you, as always, to everyone at Oak Forest High School!
