Before the school year ended, the staff of Dr. Julia Rogus School (Leslie’s school) and the Frankfort Area Jaycees held a benefit for Julia’s Legacy of Hope. Again, countless hours were donated by a very generous staff and community in support of Julia’s Legacy. The school was opened on a Sunday in June and it was filled with parents, students and teachers from District 161 and District 230. There were large blow up jumpies outside, as well as music and games for the children to enjoy on a warm and sunny afternoon. Inside the school, baskets for bidding, t-shirts for sale and a bake sale table was found. We have been continually amazed at the huge show of support for Julia’s Legacy, and this event was no exception. Julia also visited Rogus School many times before, during and after school hours and left a huge impression on both the students and the staff.
